Article excerpt

Llewellen L. Keller II, 13th president of the Lyric Theatre, became active in the operation during 1980 in a way that indicates the community effort that has built the Lyric in Oklahoma City.

"The next day, I found out the Lyric needed $8,800 for the equipment. I made a series of phone calls and raised the money by the second day. It was easy because of the citizen support the Lyric has in Oklahoma City."

Keller followed Karen L. Luke as president and will be succeeded by Jack Finley, who is president-elect.

The first president was John E. Kirkpatrick, one of the founders, from 1963 to 1965. He later was president from 1968 to 1975. Since then, Kirkpatrick has been honorary chairman.

President - Kirkpatrick 1963-65; Thelma Gaylord 1966-67; Kirkpatrick 1968-75. …
