Uec Equipment Announces Promotions / Alexander Named by Allied Arts

James V. Neuberger, president of UEC Equipment Co., has announced the following new officers: Joe L. Urban, senior vice president-marketing; Curtis D. Gipson, vice president and treasurer; Harlan G. Vanderpool, vice president-branch service; and Dennis J. Morrison, vice president-utility sales.

As senior vice president, Urban directs the corporate sales, marketing, branch service, and customer service functions of the company. Gipson manages UEC's financial, accounting, inventory and parts operations. Vanderpool is responsible for the operation of UEC's four service brances located in Oklahoma City, Dallas, Houston, and Baton Rouge, as well as commercial sales. Morrison will head major utility sales programs in Texas and Louisiana.

UEC Equipment Co. has maintained corporate headquarters in Oklahoma City since founded in 1947 by present chairman, Nick J. Basanda, and is a major supplier of truck-mounted hydraulic equipment to electric utilities, petrochemical and industrial plants, state and federal agencies and other related industries in Oklahoma and six other states. . .

- Patrick Alexander has been appointed managing director of the Allied Arts Foundation, effective Aug. 1. As chief operating officer, Alexander will be responsible for managing Allied Arts for the board of directors and insuring that the annual drive is successful. Alexander, executive director of the Oklahoma Symphony Orchestra from 1979-1988, was honored by Gov. Henry Bellmon in 1987 for his contribution to the arts in Oklahoma. . .

- Robert H. Cooper has been appointed to the position of senior vice president-marketing for Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. Cooper has held several executive-marketing positions since 1981 when he was appointed vice president-marketing for Gulfstream's Oklahoma City operation. He established the company's department for the marketing of used jet aircraft in 1986, while conducting special marketing assignments on behalf of the corporate jet manufacturer.

Reporting to Cooper in his newly-created position are marketing vice presidents Joseph E. Anckner and Herbert B. Franck, who are responsible for international and U.S./Canadian sales, respectively. Alvin F. Balaban, director of corporate communications, will assume responsibilities for Gulfstream advertising and marketing promotions reporting to Cooper. . .

- New board members of Travelers Aid Society of Oklahoma are Susan Walters, Oklahoma Arts Council; Madalynne Norick; Mark Costly, Crowe & Dunlevy; Phil Franke, Eastern Airlines; and Stephan Pattison, American Federal Savings and Loan. Travelers Aid in cooperation with other agencies provides counseling and assistance to residents or stranded travelers needing to complete a necessary journey and newcomers lacking the means to support themselves and without adequate residence. …
