Mick Cornett has been named KOCO-TV, 5 Alive sports director. Cornett joined 5 Alive in 1981, and has received several honors for his sportscasting.

Metcalf, chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Scrivner Inc., has been named general chairman of Scouting for Food, a November effort by the Last Frontier Council, Boy Scouts of America, to collect food for the hungry. Scrivner will provide trucks, trailers and a number of collection sites for the food collected by Boy Scouts and their leaders. . .
- Jack Foreman, director of deaf education in The University of Tulsa's College of Nursing and Applied Health Sciences, has been awarded the Oklahoma Speech-Language-Hearing Association's 1988 Distinguished Service Award.
