Arthritis Care Center Scheduled to Open March 14

The Oklahoma Arthritis Care Center, located at The Oklahoma City Clinic, will open March 14, filling a gap in Oklahoma for comprehensive, team approach arthritis treatment.

The center will bring together board certified physicians and health care professionals specializing in all aspects of arthritis treatment and education.

Arthritis is America's number one crippling disease and affects people of all ages, including children and adults in the prime of life. More than 36 million Americans, one in every seven, are affected by this serious, chronic health problem. About 488,000 of that number are Oklahomans, the center reports. . .

- Bill Browning, partner in the audit division of Arthur Andersen & Co., has been named general chairman for the 1989 Arthritis Foundation Telethon. Randy Everest, chairman of Trust Company of Oklahoma, was named chairman of the "VIP committee," a committee which recruits individuals to solicit their co-workers, friends and associates for contributions. Ed Krei, private management services and investment consultant, was named chairman of the corporate committee, which solicits corporate contributions.

The Telethon will be broadcast of KOKH TV-25, April 23 from 10 a.m to 6 p.m. Funds raised benefit arthritis research nationwide. . .

- Pam Ivester has been named assistant administrator for patient services at Willow View Hospital. Ivester has served as nursing administrator for two and a half years. Before joining Willow View, Ivester worked ten years at St. Anthony Hospital's Mental Health Annex.

Willow View Hospital is a private 93-bed, non-profit hospital dedicated solely to the treatment of psychiatric illness, providing adult, adolescent and children's psychiatric programs. The hospital's Dual Focus Programs recognize the interrelationship of psychiatric and substance abuse problems and treat both concurrently. . .

- Lyn Hester, director of public relations at South Community Hospital, is leading a workshop at The National Healthcare Marketing Symposium in Florida this month. Hester's presentation is titled "Physician Enhancement: Filling Hospital Beds by Becoming the Doctor Friendly Hospital. …
