Rickey Cox has no problem recounting the biggest thrill of his short four-year-career as a Quarter Horse trainer. It happened Monday when Cox, 41, saddled two of the 12 finalists for the $327,000 Remington Park Futurity July 2.

Cox won Monday's fourth trial race with Fancy Toro and the sixth trial with Toros Tango. Fancy Toro was the second fastest qualifier and Toros Tango the 11th.

"Qualifying both fillies to the futurity is by far the biggest thrill of my career," said Cox. It was a pretty big dream to get one in, let alone both."

Cox, from Abilene, Texas, was the only trainer to qualify two horses for the 400-yard finals.

"Both horses came out of the trials bouncing and both are resting good," Cox said. "But there are some real nice fillies in the final, so we'll just have to wait and see what happens. . ."

Notes and Quotes "I hope this race meet goes well," said Quarter Horse Trainer Neil Garcia, who ranks sixth in the trainers' standings. "It's good job security. . ."
