This holiday weekend Remington Park will offer its richest races to date and several major Thoroughbred stakes.

Saturday, the $15,000-added Pauls Valley Handicap and the simulcast of the $200,000 Dwyer stakes from Belmont Park in New York will highlight the 12-race card.

Saturday's "Sunrise At Remington" will feature jockey Dewey Smith, ranked fifth in the rider standing's and trainer Richie Cox. Cox will start two runners, Fancy Toro and Toros Tango in Sunday's Remington Park rich Quarter Horse Futurity. The track-side program is from 8 to 9:30 a.m.

Sunday, some promising 2-year-olds will compete in the $295,000 Remington Park Quarter Horse Futurity, the richest race ever at Remington. Monday, some of the nation's best older Quarter Horses will battle it out in the $75,000 Remington Park Championship. The winner of the 400-yard race automatically earns a slot in the prestigious Champion of Champions race at Los Alamitos in California later this fall.

Simulcasts for Monday include the $398,000 Rainbow Derby for 3-year-old Quarter Horses from Ruidoso Downs in New Mexico and the $250,000 Coaching Club American Oaks from Belmont...
