ORDINANCE NO. 19,270

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 59, ARTICLE VI, SECTION 59-

6910.2E OF THE OKLAHOMA CITY MUNICIPAL CODE, 1980, PERTAINING TO HANDICAPPED PARKING SPACES; PROVIDING FOR COMPLIANCE; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

Emergency Ordinance

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OKLAHOMA CITY:

SECTION 1. That Chapter 59, Article VI, Section 59-6910.2E of the Oklahoma Municipal Code, 1980, is hereby amended to read as follows:

E. Handicapped Parking.

(1) Parking spaces for vehicles with handicapped drivers shall be provided in accordance with the following table. Said spaces shall be included in the computation of required spaces as specified by this section.

(2) Each and every required handicapped parking space shall be posted by the display of a standard international handicapped wheelchair symbol sign or legend not less than twelve (12) inches by eighteen (18) inches in size permanently mounted above ground immediately in front of said spaces not less than three (3) feet nor more than eight (8) feet from the paving surface to the bottom of the sign. …
