Southwest Airlines Revenue Miles Rise

DALLAS - A 10.3 percent increase in revenue passenger miles to 768.4 million was reported Monday for September by Southwest Airlines Co..

That figure compares with 696.4 million revenue passenger miles flown by Southwest in September 1989.

Available seat miles increased 9.7 percent to 1.37 million from the September 1989 level of 1.25 million. The load factor for the month was 55.9 percent compared to 55.5 percent for the same period in 1989.

For the third quarter of 1990, Southwest flew 2.68 million revenue passenger miles compared with 2.4 million revenue passenger miles recorded for the same period in 1989, an increase of 9.5 percent.

Available seat miles increased 10.4 percent to 4.26 million from the 1989 third quarter level of 3.86 million. The 1990 third quarter load factor was 62.9 percent compared to 63.4 percent for the same period last year.
