Oil Prices Higher; Trading Sluggish

From Staff, Wire Reports Oil prices rallied modestly Friday, wrapping up a sluggish trading session and a quiet week.

Light sweet crude oil for October delivery settled at $21.68 a barrel, up 15 cents, at the New York Mercantile Exchange.

On the spot cash market, buyers raised posted prices by 25 cents a barrel, bringing Oklahoma Sweet and West Texas Intermediate to $20.50.

Oklahoma Sour was posted at $19.15 a barrel by Koch Oil Co. and Citgo Petroleum Corp., and at $18.40 a barrel by Kerr-McGee Corp. Kerr-McGee posted Central Oklahoma Sweet at $20.75 a barrel. Phillips 66 Co. also made the price changes.

Heating oil for October delivery settled at 61.68 cents a gallon, up 0.51 cents for the day but down 0.6 cents for the week. Unleaded gasoline for October delivery settled at 61.69 cents a gallon, up 0.34 cents for the day and 0.54 cents for the week.

Natural gas prices were mixed, with contracts for October delivery settling at $1.590 per thousand cubic feet, down 0. …
