Phoenix to Purchase Notes The Phoenix Resource Companies Inc. has agreed to purchase $7.8 million original principal amount of the company's 10 percent Senior Notes due April 9, 2000, for a cash purchase price of $7.5 million, the Oklahoma City based company said Tuesday. The notes will be purchased from an outside party and include $1.2 million of accrued interest which the company will no longer be obligated to pay. Phoenix said it will record a loss of approximately $2.7 million in connection with this transaction in the third quarter.

Nonprofit Management Conference Slated Brian O'Connell, president of Independent Sector, will be the keynote speaker for the annual Statewide Nonprofit Management Conference Thursday at the Lincoln Plaza Convention Center. The conference will include the 10th anniversary luncheon for The Support Center of Oklahoma. O'Connell will be the speaker at the luncheon, scheduled at 11:30 a.m. at the Lincoln Plaza. The conference also will include 15 workshops.

The Independent Sector is a national coalition of voluntary organizations, foundations and corporations that seeks to preserve and enhance American traditions of giving, volunteering and not-for-profit initiative.

O'Connell is the author of "The Board Member's Book." The conference is sponsored by The Support Center of Oklahoma, which has offices at 525 NW 13th St. in Oklahoma City and at 320 S. Boston in Tulsa. A nonprofit management resource center, it is part of a network of 12 centers in the country.

ABC Craft Malls to Open ABC Craft Malls Inc. has signed a three-year lease for 13,600 square feet in the Commerce Galleria Shopping Center, Britton Rd. and N. May Ave. Connie and Al Bone, owners of the company, plan to open the mall Saturday with more than 200 dealers in the space at 9440 N. May Charles Ballenger represented the shopping center in lease negotiations.

ABC Craft Malls opened another location in June at 1230 Enterprise Ave., near Int. Hwy. 40 and Meridian Ave. The mall is a freestanding building that consists of 6,500 square feet and is leased by an attorney in California. The company has 96 dealers and houses ABC Monogramming. …
