Coldwell Banker Agency Appoints Roy Avants New General Manager

Coldwell Banker Marolyn Pryor Realtors has named Roy M. Avants general manager.

Avants was with Bob Linn & Associates as senior sales manager and vice president of sales. He had been with the organization since 1986.

Avants will fill the void left by Marolyn Pryor who is no longer affiliated with the company, said Tom Kilpatrick, chairman of Coldwell Banker Marolyn Pryor. The Kilpatrick Group Inc. purchased Coldwell Banker Marolyn Pryor Realtors from Pryor in March.

"He will be in charge of corporate operations and will be working with the managers to meet the challenges and demands of the company as we grow through our first year since acquisition of Coldwell Banker Marolyn Pryor Realtors," Kilpatrick said.

"I felt like the opportunity here for growth was open," he said. "It has young aggressive owners and the opportunity to have a greater impact on the market than what we have right now." Avants began his real estate career as a sales associate. In 1977 he opened Alpha-Omega Homes Inc., a Red Carpet affiliate, and he worked as broker-owner. He sold the company in 1984.

Avants served as president of the Red Carpet Oklahoma Region Council of Brokers and the Red Carpet Metro Council of Brokers.

He worked as the general sales manager of the Baer Co. for two years and joined Bob Linn & Associates in 1986.

Avants has been active in the Oklahoma City Metropolitan Board of Realtors for 16 years, served as president in 1986 and has served on several committees. He has been active in the Oklahoma Association of Realtors and during 1992, he will serve on the grievance and education committees.
