Oil Futures Decline in Dull Session

Oil prices fell Tuesday in what futures traders called a dull session at the New York Mercantile Exchange.

Light sweet crude oil for March delivery settled at $19.17 a barrel, down 19 cents.

Reciprocally, on the spot cash market, several buyers like Phillips 66 Co. lowered posted prices by 25 cents a barrel, bringing Oklahoma Sweet and West Texas Intermediate to $17.75 a barrel. Oklahoma Sour was posted at 5 a barrel by Koch Oil Co. and Kerr-McGee Corp. Central Oklahoma Sweet was posted at $18 a barrel by Kerr-McGee.

In London, North Sea Brent Blend crude oil for March delivery settled at $18.24 a barrel, down 20 cents, at the International Petroleum Exchange.

Natural gas prices fell on the New York Merc, with contracts for March delivery settling at $1.181 per 1,000 cubic feet, down 3.7 cents.

Futures contracts for petroleum products also declined. Home heating oil for February delivery settled at 54.10 cents a gallon, down 1.29 cents.
