Garth Brooks Buys Land in North Oklahoma County

Article excerpt

Country music star Garth Brooks and his wife have purchased approximately 151 acres of land for $640,000 in far north Oklahoma County within the Oklahoma City limits.

There were three warranty deeds filed this week on the land with Oklahoma County. All three deeds were issued to Troyal G. and Sandra G. Brooks.

He is a native of Yukon and his parents still live there. Brooks and his wife currently live in Nashville, Tenn.

The address listed for return on one of the warranty deeds was to the Brooks' family home in Yukon. The addresses on the other two warranty deeds was to Doyle Lewis Management Co. out of Nashville.

Brooks lists Doyle Lewis as his management company on records and tapes.

A representative at Doyle Lewis would not release information on the land purchase on Thursday. The Doyle Lewis representative said it must have been a personal sale, and he did not confirm any information.

The property is about 0.5 miles south of the Deer Creek city limits and one mile west of the Edmond city limits.

Two of the warranty deeds described the site as 2,640 feet south of NW 192nd St. and 2,640 feet east of Western Ave. That portion of the land purchased by Brooks is 9.31 acres and includes a house.

The third warranty deed describes that portion as being 142 acres at Western Ave. and NW 192nd St.

According to the Oklahoma County Assessor's office, there is a 4,260-square-foot house, by outside measurements. The land the house is on was on a trust property and each deed was listed at $120,000.

Sellers of the property listed on those two warranty deeds were Patricia Seabrook, guardian of the property of Edith Seabrook, on one deed and Earl James Seabrook Sr., trustee of the Earl James Seabrook Sr. living trust, on the other deed.

The 142 acres of vacant land in the northwest and southwest quarters was purchased in a separate transaction for $400,000. First Service Development Inc., an Oklahoma limited partnership, was the seller of the property.

The only entrance to the property is a private road that extends south from NW 192nd St. about 0.5 miles and is in the northwest quadrant, according to the Oklahoma County Assessor's Office. …
