The holding company of Will Rogers Bank and Trust Co., WRB Bancshares Inc., was merged into First Bancorp of Kansas Wednesday as a previously announced transaction was completed.

Will Rogers Bank, 5100 NW 10th St., will retain its name and management and be operated as a subsidiary of the Wichita-based company. The purchase was announced in June. The price was not disclosed.

"This will increase our ability to get larger loans and will allow us to go into different markets where we were not able to go," said Gene Davis, senior vice president for Will Rogers.

First Bancorp is the second largest bank holding company in Kansas, with $1.2 billion in assets. Its lead bank is First National Bank in Wichita, which has assets of $912 million. The bank has been in operation since 1876.

Will Rogers, with $65 million in assets, is the 23rd largest Oklahoma County-based bank. The Kansas company has been involved in the Oklahoma City market for two years through a loan production office of First National Bank in Wichita. …
