Jerry Howard, Redbook Florist Services Territory manager for
Oklahoma, has been named salesman of the year. The award is given
each year at Redbook's National Sales Meeting, held this year in
Las Vegas, and is given to the territory manager that achieves
the highest percentage of goal in the five major sales
Howard also received Redbook's Summit Award, presented to the
territory manager that achieves over 100 percent of all sales
goals. Howard is the previous owner of Howard Brothers Florists
Inc. and has been with Redbook about one year. . .
Jim West has joined the Freeman Moving Group as director of sales
and marketing at their Oklahoma City headquarters. The Freeman
Group also has full-service offices in Tulsa, Houston, Austin,
Dallas and Fort Worth. . .
Richard A. Burpee, retired lieutenant general of the U.S. Air
Force, has been appointed vice president for
development-community relations at the University of Central
Oklahoma. The board of regents approved university President
George Nigh's recommendation during its regular meeting Nov. 13.
Burpee serves on the board of consultants for the Kirkpatrick
Center and the board of trustees for the Oklahoma Aviation Space
Hall of Fame and Museum.
The regents also approved a name change for Broncho Field
House, now to be called Hamilton House in honor of Dale Hamilton,
athletic director and coach. . .
Roger A. Martin has been named distribution center representative
and Le'Cena McDowell has been named billing representative for
the payroll and billing department of Franchise Support Services
at Express Services Temporary Permanent Personnel International
Headquarters in Oklahoma City.
Martin will be responsible for shipping, receiving, mail
distribution and office supply inventory. McDowell
responsibilities include client billing, posting payments,
franchise support and distributing aging reports.
Express Services offers temporary help placement, permanent
placement and executive recruiting. . .
Garry Ritzky, risk and human resource manager for Turner Brothers
Trucking in Oklahoma City, has received the first annual Society
for Human Resource Management Capital Award. The Capital Award
recognizes leadership in the area of government relations.
The society relies upon the leadership within its volunteer
structure to recruit, organize and mobilize member resources
within the chapter and state council structure to influence
decisions made by state and federal policy makers. …
