News Directors Association Names Curkan-Flanagan Regional Director

Marie Curkan-Flanagan, 5-Alive KOCO-TV news director, has been named regional director of the Radio-Television News Directors Association. Founded in 1946, the association has 3,600 members comprised of news managers, producers, reporters, photographers, students, teachers and others in radio and television news and related fields. . . Gary Marks, director of Oklahoma Gas and Electric Co.'s Business Resource Center, has been selected as a board member for the Durant-based Rural Enterprises Inc. Marks manages OG E's economic development department and is chairman of the governor's economic development team, Central Oklahoma Economic Development Association and the Oklahoma Manufacturer's Exchange Center.

He is past chairman of the governor's international team, Oklahoma's Certified Cities Program and Oklahoma Industrial Development Council.

Marks replaced Bob Jackson, industrial development manager for Tulsa-based Public Service Co. of Oklahoma. Jackson had been with the Durant organization since 1981. . . Janet L. Darden has been named divisional vice president of the new Overland Park, Kan., divisional claims office of American International Adjustment Co., a property and claims subsidiary of American National Group Inc. The office will provide claims adjustment services in Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas for insurance products underwritten by AIG Companies. . . Sandy Price has been named director of tourism sales for the Oklahoma City Convention and Visitors Bureau. Her duties will include the planning, execution and promotion of Oklahoma City as a visitor destination. . . Elden G. Roscher, president and chief executive officer of the Oklahoma Grocers Association, has received the National Grocers Association's Clarence G. Adamy "Great American" Award. The award honors a food industry leader or company whose work best exemplifies active and effective participation in public affairs as a citizen and industry representative. …
