OU Sponsors Satellite Program on Building a Better Community

A satellite program for people interested in "building a better future" for their communities is scheduled Oct. 28 on the University of Oklahoma Norman campus.

"From TQM to a Learning Community" will be sponsored by the Center on Standards for Quality and Television Satellite Services, both programs of OU's College of Continuing Education.

The satellite program will be broadcast live from Jackson (Mich.) Community College. Locally, the teleconference will be broadcast from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the OU Television and Satellite Services studio, 1600 S. Jenkins Ave. in Norman. Registration will be taken beginning at 10 a.m., followed by a pre-conference briefing.

Topics to be explored include the fundamentals of the learning organization, increasing one's ability to learn and ways of enhancing thinking, communication and leadership skills.

Leading the teleconference will be Peter Senge, who serves on the faculty of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Senge is a leader of the Center for Organizational Learning at MIT's Sloan School of Management. …
