EAdmond Building Permits Slip 2.3 Percent during September

The City of Edmond issued 86 building permits in September, a 2.3 percent decrease from 88 permits issued in the same month last year, according to a report distributed by the city.

This is the second year Edmond has issued more than 80 permits during a September since 80 were issued in 1984.

Building permits during the month were estimated at $10.8 million compared with permits valued at a total of $11.5 million in September 1992.

During the first nine months of 1993, 846 permits were issued, an 11.4 percent increase from 757 permits issued in the same period of 1992.

Building permits for new single-family homes increased 1.7 percent to 59 permits in September from 58 permits issued last year. In September, permits were for new houses valued at $7.65 million, or an average of $124,742 per house. This compared with permits valued at $7.64 million, or an average of $131,802 per home, in September 1992.

During the month, 30 building permits were issued for houses valued at $100,000 or more, five for houses valued at $200,000 or more and two for houses estimated at $300,000 or more. …
