Credit Union Asks to Rezone Acreage

Municipal Employees Credit Union has applied to the Oklahoma City Planning Commission for rezoning of 2.1 acres in the 8800 block of S. Walker Ave.

The commission is expected to hear the item during its regular meeting Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in City of Oklahoma City council chambers.

The credit union has applied to rezone 8800-8824 S. Walker Ave. from the R-1 single-family residential district to the PUD planned unit development district. It would be developed in accordance with the O-2 general office district. A dwelling is on the site.

According to the staff report, the uses permitted could include drive-through lanes, a storage area or structure of no more than 4,900 square feet and two entrances to the property. The structure could be "used as an accessory storage area for vehicles that are pledged as collateral to the developer." More restrictions are identified in the report.

The credit union does not own the property. Its locations are at 101 N. Walker Ave. and 6006 S. Western Ave.

Other items scheduled before the planning commission include: Application by Monty Priest to rezone 12350 N. MacArthur Blvd. from the R-4 general residential and C-3 community commercial districts to the PUD planned unit development district. The site is 4.6 acres. This application was continued from the Aug. 26, Sept. 23 and Nov. 18 meetings in order for the applicant to submit revisions. Revisions have been received and reviewed. Final plat of Lakeridge Run, Section IV, located north of SW 119th St. and west of S. May Ave. The land is 17.7 acres. Southwest Title Trust of Oklahoma City is the developer. Design Engineers Inc. also of Oklahoma City is the engineer. This application was continued from the Nov. 18 and Dec. 2 meetings. The preliminary plat of Lakeridge Run Section IV was approved June 11, 1992. Application by Kay M. McCord and Edan Partnership to rezone 2801-2831 Country Club Dr., 2800-2832 NW Grand Blvd., 7539-7545 Berkley Ave. and 7424-7538 N. May Ave. from the R-1 single-family residential district into the C-3 community commercial district. …
