Two Oklahoma City-based accounting firms have completed merger negotiations and signed partnership agreements this month.

The accounting firms of Havern, Behrens and Heim and Robin L. Byford CPA have decided to join forces by pooling their assets.

Partners of the new firm are Timothy M. Havern, Alan D. Behrens, Lonnie D. Heim and Robin L. Byford.

Heim said the firm was looking for an opportunity to strengthen its operations when he was approached by Byford.

He said that partners in the firm wanted to extend the life of the firm by attracting younger partners and said that they wanted the firm to grow.

Havern, Behrens and Heim began practicing in El Reno in 1973 and opened its Oklahoma City office in 1984.

The new firm, Havern, Behrens, Heim and Byford has $100,000 dollars in assets and has the potential to earn $600,000 in client billing. The new firm has eight employees and serves mostly small businesses.

Robin Byford said the merger was attractive to her because she thought she could serve her clients better by developing a specialty at a larger firm. …
