Lee Symcox President, CEO of First Fidelity Bank

Lee R. Symcox has been elected president and chief executive officer of First Fidelity Bank NA, it was announced Monday.

Symcox had served as chief operating officer since September 1993.

He succeeds his father, Don R. Symcox, who will remain active in the bank and serve as president of the bank's holding company, First Fidelity Bancorp Inc.

Don Symcox in turn fills the post resulting from retirement of W.L. "Bill" Owens, previous president of the holding company, Lee Symcox said.

Changes were effective Jan. 1.

"We're not reshuffling," he said. "This is just a progression due to retirement."

Owens will still have a place on the bank's board of directors.

Lee Symcox has been with the bank and served on its board of directors since its merger with City National Bank Trust Co. of Norman in 1992.

He had been president of City National, which was owned by the Symcox family for 70 years.

First Fidelity bank is locally owned by Lee Symcox; his wife, Suzanne M. Symcox; William M. Cameron, chairman of First Fidelity Bank; and his sister, Lynda Cameron.

William Cameron and Lynda Cameron purchased a major interest in the bank in 1986.

First Fidelity Bank is the 12th largest bank in the Oklahoma City area. It has $235. …
