NOTICE TO BIDDERS

Notice is given that the City of Midwest City will receive sealed bids in the Office of the City Clerk, Midwest City Municipal Center, Midwest City, Oklahoma, until 10:00 a.m., on the 21st day of February, 1995, for the: Installation of a High Density Polyethylene Liner in the Felix Place Booster Station 1.5 Million Gallon Ground Storage Tank.

Any bids received after 10:00 a.m. on this date, will be returned unopened. Bids shall be made in accordance with the Notice to Bidders, Requirements for Bidders, Plans, Specifications and Bid Form, which are on file and available for public examination at the Office of the City Clerk in the Midwest City Municipal Center, 100 N. Midwest Blvd., Midwest City, Oklahoma. Complete sets of general conditions, plans and specifications and other bidding documents may be obtained from the City of Midwest City, Development Services Department, Engineering Division, 100 N. Midwest Boulevard, Midwest City, Oklahoma.

Specifications may be purchased for twenty-five dollars ($25.00) per book which is nonrefundable. Bids filed with the City Clerk shall be opened publicly and read aloud in the City Council Chambers at the time stated above or later. All bids shall be considered by the Mayor and Council prior to contract being awarded. The City Council shall consider award of the project on February 28, 1995, to the lowest and best bidder meeting specifications. The City Council may lay the same over to a subsequent meeting for comparison and computation.

Sales Tax Exemption. Title 68 Oklahoma Statutes (1990 Supp), Section 1356(1), exempts municipalities from sales tax on the purchase of "tangible personal property or services." All bids for City projects shall be assumed to have been made based on such statutory exemption as effective on the bid date.

Bids received more than ninety-six (96) hours, excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, before the time set for opening of bids, as well as bids received after the time set for opening of bids, will not be considered and will be returned unopened. …
