Fred Jones Gets 11th Chairman's Award

With customer service on the minds of nearly every new car dealer in the nation, Fred Jones Lincoln-Mercury has compiled an enviable record in that department.

For the 11th straight year, the dealership has been named for the Chairman's Award, Ford Motor Co.'s highest award for customer satisfaction. What it means is that the dealership is doing a good job in making its customers happy, said Boots Hall, president of the Fred Jones Autogroup.

"I think the secret of their success is consistency in the way they treat their customers and there's very little turn-over," Hall said. "If there's ever a way to get a warm, fuzzy feeling from visiting a car dealership, this is the place to get it." Hall, calling the award "a very prestigious honor," said the recipient is selected objectively, based purely upon customer responses to questions from Ford. "This is not something the company decides to give to a dealership, they go strictly by the numbers given by customers," he said. …
