Applied Intelligence, Epic Form Unique Communications Service

EDMOND (JR) -- Applied Intelligence Group and Epic Communications have launched the first Internet-based, interactive communications service between manufacturers and convenience store operators.

The service -- called CSP MarketLink -- is designed to give retailers access to a broader range of information while providing manufacturers direct access to more retailers.

Epic Communications publishes CSP Magazine. The joint venture uses "push" technology to deliver supplier messages into the subscribing store's e-mail in-box. The retailer can then preview new products, promotions and media plans, obtain category information and research, participate in surveys, e-mail questions or suggestions, and then look or listen to advertising campaigns on video transmitted to a computer. The new service provides manufacturers with immediate feedback from retailers as well as verification that information was received and read by decision makers at targeted retail companies. CPS MarketLink operates with Edmond-based Applied Intelligence Group's viaLink system. The viaLink system, launched in January, is a commercial application that uses the Internet as a medium to facilitate electronic commerce between retailers and suppliers. …
