State Securities Official Takes Part in National Planning

Irving Faught's expertise is garnering the attention of national forums.

Over the weekend, the administrator of the Oklahoma Department of Securities went to Chicago to participate in the Policy Committee for long-range planning for the National Association of Securities Administrators -- a position that will help influence where national and state securities regulations will go.

In May, Faught will speak at the Practicing Law Institute conference in New York City on securities law and the Internet -- a topic he knows well as the chairman of NASA's Internet committee. People UMB Oklahoma Bank has added two board members -- Tom McDaniel and Lou C. Kerr. McDaniel, vice chairman and a member of the board of Kerr-McGee, received a bacehlor's degree in business from Northwestern Oklahoma State University and a law degree from the University of Oklahoma. He currently serves on the boards of Devon Energy, the National Association of Manufacturers, the American Petroleum Institute, the Oklahoma Academy of State Goals, the Salvation Army and the Petroleum Club of Oklahoma City. He is a member of the Oklahoma County, state and national Bar associations and is the past state chairman of the Oklahoma Fellows of the American Bar Foundation. He is also a member of the executive committee of the Murrah Building Memorial Foundation. Kerr, vice president and secretary of The Kerr Foundation, is a graduate of Oklahoma City University with a bachelor's degree in education and health -- plus an honorary doctor of humane letters from OCU. Her public service includes the Oklahoma Art Center, Lyric Theater, Kirkpatrick Center and Oklahoma Art League. She was a founder of Red Earth, Sister Cities and the Oklahoma City Public School Foundation. She currently serves as a trustee for the Oklahoma School of Science and Math Foundation, OCU and is on the Board of Visitors for the OU Health Center Foundation. She has also served as president of the Oklahoma Health Center Foundation. Bank of Oklahoma has appointed Jeff Cummins vice president and account manager in the Commercial Banking Division. …
