Longtime Oklahoma City prosthetist Ray Buddin is selling his company to Lubbock-based Aslan Orthotic and Prosthetic Centers.

The cost and terms for the sale of Ray Buddin Artificial Limb were not disclosed.

The new owner will offer patients a new technology -- TracerCad - - involving a "plasterless" measurement and fitting system that is considered much quicker and more comfortable for the patient. Because Aslan is a beta test company for TracerCad development, officials said patients will have access to advances in the industry long before they are available elsewhere. Aslan offers a central fabrication service for all its facilities. The company intends to add orthotic service at a future date. "This company has been researching expansion into Oklahoma City for some time," said Ray Cruce, Aslan chairman and chief executive officer. "When Mr. Buddin decided to retire, we found that his desires for the future of his business and our business philosophy were a perfect fit. …
