OSU Honors Two Distinguished Alumni

Terry E. London, president and chief executive of Nashville- based Gaylord Entertainment, and Sharon D. Maloney, partner in the accounting firm of Ernst & Young, have been named Oklahoma State University School of Accounting Distinguished Alumni.

An awards and recognition banquet presented by the OSU School of Accounting and OSU chapter of Beat Alpha Psi, a national honorary accounting fraternity, honored the two accounting alumni who have achieved significant levels of accomplishment in industry and public accounting.

London was named the 1998-99 Distinguished Accounting Alumnus from industry. He received a bachelor's degree in 1971 in mathematics and statistics from OSU and in 1973 received a master's degree in accounting. He joined Gaylord Broadcasting in Dallas in 1978. Maloney is the Distinguished Accounting Alumnus from public accounting. She is the partner in charge of Ernst & Young's Jackson, Miss., office. She received her bachelor's degree in accounting from OSU in 1975. Services Joe Penhall has joined Wolf Mailing and Marketing Services as vice president of operations. He has more than 30 years of experience in the mailing industry. Terri Weldon has been named vice president of franchise support services for Express Services. She supervises an assistance center with 18 members who support Express franchises. Weldon has been with Express for 11 years. Charles Merrick, of C. Merrick & Associates of Edmond, has been appointed to Strider International's group of consultants. David Lloyd has been named vice president of human resources for The viaLink Co. of Edmond. Lloyd will be responsible for the direction and management of human resources activities and company administrative support functions. Lloyd will be located in the company's Dallas office. Officers James Kimpel, director of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's National Severe Storms Laboratory in Norman, is president-elect of the American Meteorological Society. …
