State Farm to Adjust Insurance Rates

State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance, which represents about one of every five cars insured in Oklahoma, is adjusting its rates.

Some policyholders will experience a rate reduction while others will see rates increase, but there will be no change in the overall state rate level, according to State Farm's Oklahoma-Kansas Regional Office in Tulsa.

The adjustment was effective Oct. 1 for new business and will take effect Nov. 1 for renewal business.

On average, State Farm said, premiums for collision coverage are dropping while premiums for liability and medical payments will increase. Changes for individual motorists will vary depending on factors such as coverages carried, where they live, the kind of car insured and who drives the car and how much.
