Children's author Joyce Barkhouse dies

TORONTO -- Canadian children's author Joyce Barkhouse, whose novel "Pit Pony" was adapted for the small screen as a Gemini Award-winning film and a series, has died.Nate Crawford, executive director of the Writers' Federation of Nova Scotia, said Barkhouse died on Thursday in Bridgewater, N.S., following a heart attack. She was 98.

Watchdog rules Sun TV interview acceptable

TORONTO -- A Canadian broadcast watchdog has ruled that an "aggressive" Sun News TV interview was acceptable after receiving a record number of complaints from viewers. The Canadian Broadcast Standards Council released its decision Friday regarding a June 1 interview between host Krista Erickson and Quebec-born dancer Margie Gillis.
