Amateurs find themselves 'Way Off Broadway'


TORONTO -- Granted, the amateur performers who pour their heart and soul into a musical production of "The Wizard of Oz" on Bravo's "Way Off Broadway" are a little rough around the edges. But that's to be expected from a group of theatre wannabes better known in their own circles as a dentist, high school teacher, real estate developer and health-care administrator. At recent rehearsals for TV's newest reality-singing series, many of the would-be entertainers said the prospect of belting out show tunes for a live and televised audience is a dream come true.
