Galiev Scores Winner to Advance the Sea Dogs into President's Cup Finals: Saint John Defeats Chicoutimi 4-3 in Overtime

SAINT JOHN, N.B. - For the third straight time in as many seasons, the Saint John Sea Dogs will have a chance to hoist the President's Cup.

Stanislav Galiev scored the winning goal 11:19 into overtime as the Saint John Sea Dogs eliminated the visiting Chicoutimi Sagueens from Quebec Major Junior Hockey League playoff action by a score of 4-3 on Saturday.

Saint John won the best-of-seven Eastern Conference final 4-1 after back-to-back overtime victories to clinch the series.

Last season the Sea Dogs won the President's Cup after eliminating the Gatineau Olympiques in six games while in 2010 they finished runners up to the Moncton Wildcats.

Zack Phillips had a goal and an assist for the Sea Dogs and Charles Coyle scored his league-leading 14th of the playoffs.

Galiev added another goal for Saint John to give him a two-goal night and the game's first star.

Steve Lebel scored once and set up two more for the Sagueneens, Yoan Pinette had a goal and an assist and Dominic Poulin scored a single goal. …
