Chinatrust, Peking University Jointly Set Up Finance Academy

The China Post news staff --Taipei-based Chinatrust Commercial Bank and mainland-based Peking University (PKU) yesterday jointly established the Academy of Finance and Development at PKU in Beijing. The academy's goal is to enhance cooperation on the research of financial policies in Greater China and promote financial integration and efficiency for financial services across the Taiwan Strait.
The academy will also serve as a platform for dialogue among government officials, academicians, experts and entrepreneurs on the two sides of the Strait.
PKU Vice President Wu Zhipan presented Chintrust Group founder Jeffrey Koo, Sr. with an outstanding education contribution prize at the ceremony, in honor of Koo's tremendous achievements and contributions, including his efforts to promote cross-strait academic exchanges.
Chinatrust Commercial Bank Vice Chairman Steve Hsieh ([...]) received the award on behalf of Koo.
Wu said PKU is fortunate to have the opportunity to cooperate with an extraordinary enterprise like Chinatrust to further the financial research, cooperation, integration and efficiency of financial services between the mainland and Taiwan.
The academy and the cooperation project exemplify the corporate and social responsibility demonstrated by Chinatrust, said Wu.
Chinatrust founder Koo has played a key role in establishing the close cooperative relationship between PKU and the financial institution that will help create a promising future for financial development between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait, he emphasized. …
