Marine forecasts for Pacific waters issued by Environment Canada at 4:00 p.m. PST Wednesday 27 February 2013 for tonight and Thursday. The next scheduled forecasts will be issued at 9:30 p.m.

Fog implies visibility less than 1 mile:

Strait of Georgia - north of Nanaimo: Wind southeast 15 to 25 knots diminishing to light near midnight then increasing to southeast 15 to 25 early Thursday morning. Wind increasing to southeast 25 to 30 Thursday afternoon. Rain.

Strait of Georgia - south of Nanaimo: Wind variable 5 to 15 knots becoming east 15 Thursday morning then veering to south 15 to 20 Thursday afternoon. Periods of rain.

Howe Sound: Wind light increasing to northerly outflow 5 to 15 knots early this evening and to northerly outflow 15 to 25 late overnight. Wind diminishing to northerly outflow 5 to 15 Thursday afternoon. Periods of rain.

Haro Strait: Wind variable 5 to 15 knots increasing to southerly 15 to 20 Thursday afternoon. Showers.

Juan de Fuca Strait - east entrance: Wind easterly 5 to 15 knots. Periods of rain.

Juan de Fuca Strait - central strait: Wind easterly 5 to 15 knots veering to southerly 5 to 15 Thursday afternoon. Periods of rain and periods of drizzle. Fog patches forming Thursday evening.

Juan de Fuca Strait - west entrance: Wind east 10 to 15 knots increasing to east 15 to 25 near midnight then veering to south 25 Thursday afternoon. Periods of rain and periods of drizzle. Fog patches forming Thursday afternoon.

Johnstone Strait: Gale warning in effect. Wind southeast 20 to 25 knots increasing to southeast 30 to 40 early Thursday morning. Periods of rain.

Queen Charlotte Strait: Gale warning in effect. Wind southeast 20 to 30 knots increasing to southeast 35 to 45 early Thursday morning. Periods of rain. Fog patches forming Thursday afternoon.

West Coast Vancouver Island North: Storm warning in effect. Wind south 20 to 30 knots except south 35 to 45 near the headlands. Wind becoming southeast 25 to 35 this evening then increasing to southeast 40 to 50 early Thursday morning. Wind diminishing to southwest 30 late Thursday morning. Periods of rain.
