Marine forecasts for Pacific waters issued by Environment Canada at 4:00 p.m. PDT Saturday 23 March 2013 for tonight and Sunday. The next scheduled forecasts will be issued at 9:30 p.m.

Fog implies visibility less than 1 mile:

Strait of Georgia - north of Nanaimo: Wind southeast 15 to 20 knots diminishing to southeast 10 to 15 this evening then increasing to southeast 15 to 20 near noon Sunday. Chance of showers Sunday afternoon and evening.

Strait of Georgia - south of Nanaimo: Wind southeast 10 to 15 knots diminishing to light this evening then becoming southeast 5 to 15 late overnight. Wind diminishing to light Sunday afternoon.

Howe Sound: Wind southerly inflow 5 to 15 knots becoming light this evening then increasing to northerly outflow 15 to 20 late overnight. Wind diminishing to southerly inflow 5 to 15 near noon Sunday.

Haro Strait: Wind light.

Juan de Fuca Strait: Strong wind warning in effect. Wind easterly 5 to 15 knots diminishing to light early this evening then becoming easterly 5 to 15 late overnight except east 20 near the west entrance Sunday. A few showers beginning Sunday morning.

Johnstone Strait: Gale warning in effect. Wind southeast 10 to 15 knots increasing to southeast 20 to 25 this evening and to southeast 25 to 35 Sunday morning. Periods of rain beginning late overnight.

Queen Charlotte Strait: Gale warning in effect. Wind southeast 15 to 25 knots increasing to southeast 25 to 35 this evening and to southeast 35 to 45 Sunday morning. Periods of rain beginning late overnight.

West Coast Vancouver Island North: Storm warning in effect. Wind southeast 30 to 40 knots increasing to southeast 40 to 50 this evening then becoming southeast 45 to 55 late overnight. Periods of rain.

West Coast Vancouver Island South: Gale warning in effect. Wind southeast 15 to 25 knots except southeast 25 to 35 northwest of Estevan Point. Wind becoming southeast 25 to 35 late overnight except southeast 45 northwest of Estevan Point. Periods of rain.
