MIDGELL -- RCMP say two people are dead after a motorcycle and a car collided on Prince Edward Island Thursday.The Mounties say the crash happened on Highway 2 near Midgell, a small community about 6.5 kilometres east of Morell. Moved Atlantic.

Woman in wheelchair allegedly hit with pipe

HALIFAX -- A woman is facing charges after she allegedly struck a woman in a wheelchair with a metal pipe in Halifax.Police say officers were called to a fight between two women at the corner of Victoria and Albro Lake roads in Dartmouth around 8:30 p.m. Thursday. Moved Atlantic.

Newfoundland man banned from owning pets

ST. JOHN'S -- A 37-year-old Newfoundland man guilty of animal cruelty has been prohibited from owning any pet for three years.Christopher Whelan appeared in provincial court today in St. John's where a judge also ordered him to pay restitution of about $750 to the SPCA. Moved Atlantic.
