Canada to meet Germany at world juniors

McDavid still seeking first point at WJC


MONTREAL -- No one on Canada's junior team has any concern about rising star Connor McDavid being shut out in the team's opening game of the world junior championship. The Erie Otters star, who is a favourite to be selected first overall in the 2015 NHL draft, led the team with six shots on goal and had some glittering chances, but neither he nor linemates Curtis Lazar and Nick Ritchie got a point in an 8-0 victory over Slovakia. Devils replace DeBoer with 3-headed coaching staff


NEWARK -- The New Jersey Devils are replacing the fired Pete DeBoer with a three-headed coaching staff. Former Washington Capitals coach Adam Oates, ex-Devils assistant and star defenceman Scott Stevens and general manager Lou Lamoriello will split duties on the bench.
