OHL: Bennett stays hot in Frontenacs win

KINGSTON, Ont. - Calgary Flames prospect Sam Bennett continues to shine since returning to the Ontario Hockey League.

Bennett had a hat trick and added an assist as the Kingston Frontenacs won their fifth straight by shutting out the North Bay Battalion 6-0 on Saturday night.

In nine games this season, the fourth-overall selection in the 2014 NHL draft has 11 goals and 10 assists.

Lawson Crouse had a goal and two assists, with Ryan Verbeek and Conor McGlynn also chipping in for the Frontenacs (30-26-8). Lucas Peressini stopped all 26 shots he faced.

Jake Smith made 33 saves in goal for North Bay (33-20-11).

Kingston scored once on four power plays while the Battalion were unsuccessful on their lone attempt.

ERIE, Pa. -- Connor McDavid scored twice and had an assist as the Otters topped Windsor.

Remi Elie had a goal and two assists while Darren Raddysh added the other for Erie (46-14-4), which won its sixth straight.

Slater Doggett answered for the Spitfires (24-36-4), who dropped their seventh in a row.

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. -- Mitchell Fitzmorris scored his first goal of the season shorthanded at 19:51 of the third period as the IceDogs edged Sudbury.

Anthony DiFruscia, Brendan Perlini and Vince Dunn also found the back of the net for Niagara (34-26-4).

Danny Desrochers, Conor Cummins and Brody Silk had goals for the Wolves (12-51-2).

BELLEVILLE, Ont. -- Jeremiah Addison scored the winner in the third period as Ottawa slipped past the Bulls.

Brendan Bell and Alex Lintuniemi scored on the power play for the 67's (36-24-5).

Justin Lemcke and David Tomasek had goals for Belleville (25-32-7).
