WHL: Cave leads Broncos over Raiders


SWIFT CURRENT, Sask. - Colby Cave scored four times and added an assist as the Swift Current Broncos routed the Prince Albert Raiders 7-3 on Saturday night in Western Hockey League action.

Jake DeBrusk had a four-point night -- including two goals -- for the Broncos (32-32-5). Brett Lernout added the other.

Dalton Yorke, Tim Vanstone and Reid Gardiner chipped in for Prince Albert (28-36-4).

Landon Bow made 22 saves for the win. Nick McBride started for the Raiders and kicked out 27-of-33 shots in 50:15. Rylan Parenteau went the rest of the way and stopped all eight shots he faced.

Swift Current went 3 for 5 on the power play while Prince Albert was scoreless on four opportunities.



LETHBRIDGE, Alta. -- Connor Rankin's power-play goal in the second was the first of three in the period as Calgary doubled up the Hurricanes and snapped a three-game skid.

Chase Lang and Elliott Peterson also scored in the second for the Hitmen (41-22-5). Keegan Kanzig added a goal in the third.

Ryley Lindgren and Mike Winther replied for Lethbridge (20-40-8).



REGINA -- Jack Rodewald scored the only goal in the shootout and added another in regulation as Moose Jaw slipped past the Pats.

Brayden Point and Torrin White rounded out the attack for the Warriors (30-34-5).

Adam Brooks had a goal late in the third for Regina (37-22-10) to force extra time. Patrick D'Amico and Austin Wagner added the others.



RED DEER, Alta. -- Matt Alfaro scored midway through the third period and it stood as the winner as Kootenay snapped the Rebels' five-game winning streak.

Austin Vetterl and Vince Loschiavo had goals in the second for the Ice (36-29-4), who won their third straight. Tim Bozon added a short-handed goal in the third.

Brooks Maxwell and Scott Feser found the back of the net for Red Deer (37-22-10).



SASKATOON -- Ryan Pilon broke a tie in the third period as Brandon won its fourth straight by getting past the Blades.

Jayce Hawryluk and Duncan Campbell also scored for the Wheat Kings (51-11-7).

Ryan Graham had a power-play goal for Saskatoon (19-47-4), as it lost its seventh straight. …
