Pigot Earns Sweep of Weekend Indy Lights Races at Honda Indy Toronto

Pigot wins Indy Lights race for sweep

TORONTO - Spencer Pigot made it a weekend sweep.

Pigot captured a water-logged second Indy Lights race at the Honda Indy Toronto on Sunday. He also won the opening event Saturday but said the second victory was more a case of surviving a circuit made very slippery by the rain.

"It was very tricky out there," Pigot said following Sunday's race. "I think the key was just being very patient . . . overall I'm very happy with the results, obviously."

Pigot led from the start, finishing Sunday's race in 45 minutes 7.2515 seconds.

Jack Harvey finished second 3.0616 seconds behind on the 11-turn, 1.755-mile Exhibition Place street circuit race that was reduced to 30 laps. Ed Jones was third as he, Pigot and Harvey were the lone drivers to complete all 30 laps.

Harvey also echoed Pigot's sentiments regarding how tough it was to navigate on the wet track, adding he felt the race conditions were dangerous towards the end of the event. …
