St-Gelais, Hamelin win gold at ISU World Cup

MONTREAL - Marianne St-Gelais of Saint-Felicien, Que., won in the women's 500-metre race at the ISU short track speed skating World Cup on Sunday.

St-Gelais, who clocked in at 43.120 seconds, led the race from start to finish to earn her second individual medal of the weekend. Natalia Maliszewska of Poland finished second in 43.238 to earn her first career World Cup medal and Russia's Sofia Prosvirnova took third in 43.592.

On the men's side, China's Dajing Wu won the 500 in dominating fashion, leading the race from start to finish with a time of 40.917. Charle Cournoyer of Boucherville, Que., was second in 40.974 while Se Yeong Park of Korea was third.
