OHL Roundup: Knights win ninth in a row


SUDBURY, Ont. - Christian Dvorak had two goals and two assists and Matthew Tkachuk scored once and set up three more as the London Knights hammered the slumping Sudbury Wolves 8-1 on Friday in Ontario Hockey League action.

Cliff Pu also had a pair of goals for the Knights (23-4-2), who extended their win streak to nine games while handing Sudbury its 16th straight loss.

Max Jones, Aaron Berisha and JJ Piccinich rounded out the offence for London.

Macauley Carson put the Wolves (5-22-3) on the board when it was already 8-0 for the Knights.

London's Tyler Parson started in net and stopped 20-of-21 shots before giving way to Brendan Burke, who stopped all 16 shots his way in 20:24 of relief. Troy Timpano allowed eight goals on 43 shots for Sudbury.

The Knights went 0 for 2 on the power play while the Wolves failed to score on three chances with the man advantage.



KINGSTON, Ont. -- Jason Roberston had a hat trick and set up another as the Frontenacs beat Sault Ste. Marie for its sixth win in seven outings.

Ted Nichol also scored for Kingston (20-8-3) while Lucas Peressini made 19 saves for the victory.

Hayden Verbeek responded for the Greyhounds (13-14-3). Brandon Halverson turned away 32-of-35 shots in defeat.


OTTERS 2 67'S 1

OTTAWA -- Jake Marchment scored the go-ahead goal at 12:33 of the third as Erie edged the 67's for its seventh win in a row.

Nick Betz also scored for the Otters (26-3-1), who got a 31-save performance from Devin Williams.

Austen Keating found the back of the net for Ottawa (16-14-1), which is on a five-game slide. Leo Lazarev stopped 33-of-35 shots in defeat.



SARNIA, Ont. -- Brendan Lemieux scored three times as Windsor blanked the Sting to halt a five-game skid.

Michael DiPietro made 29 saves for the Spitfires (17-9-5) while Christian Fischer picked up an assist on each of Lemieux's goals.

Justin Fazio stopped 30-of-32 shots for Sarnia (16-11-2), which lost for the first time in four outings.



FLINT, Mich. -- Jack Flinn stopped 31 shots and Michael McLeod had a goal and an assist as Mississauga shut out the Firebirds. …
