Sinclair ties Hamm for second in scoring

NATAL, Brazil - Canada's Christine Sinclair scored goal No. 158 of her career on Sunday as Canada beat Trinidad and Tobago 4-0 at the International Tournament of Natal.

The goal ties Sinclair with American superstar Mia Hamm for second on the all-time women's scoring list.

"(Sinclair) led by example, as always," said Canadian coach John Herdman.

"It wasn't easy for her today, the Trinidad team packed the defence and made it tough to get behind them, but we had it clear in our mind that we would get goals today and I knew that Sinc would be on the score sheet. She found the room she needed."

Sinclair's goal came in the 85th minute and gave the Canadians a four-goal advantage. Nichelle Prince, Janine Beckie and Diana Matheson also found the back of the net for Canada. …
