'1-Second Show' Film Contest Opens for Applications

TAIPEI, Taiwan -- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) has launched a short-film competition and is calling on people to submit entries that feature the beauty of Taiwan with the aim to promote the country to the world.

Those who are interested in joining the contest entitled "One Second Show Taiwan Contest" should submit their short film recorded between the length of one to 10 seconds, MOFA said.

The film show is meant to document the beauty of Taiwan to audiences, therefore, films have to be filmed in Taiwan proper or on outlying islands such as Kinmen, Penghu and Matsu, it noted.

The contest is open to submissions from people of all nationalities and ages with the deadline falling on Feb. 29, it noted.

The completed film must be uploaded and sent to the organizers' designated email account and include an application form, it added. …
