Family Says Intellectually Disabled Winnipeg Boy Roughed Up, Thrown in Dumpster

WINNIPEG - A Winnipeg family is asking for the public's help after they say two men threw their 13-year-old son, who lives with an intellectual disability, in a dumpster.

John Morrissette and Marie Kinnear say their son, Jean-Micheal, was trapped inside the bin for hours on a day when temperatures hovered around -15 C.

They hope anyone who knows anything will go to the police.

The attack last week happened while the boy was walking home from school.

Nicole Langlois, who works in the area, says she heard faint cries for help as she walked past the dumpster but could not pinpoint where they were coming from.

Langlois says a gut feeling made her return a few hours later and she found the boy sleeping and covered with garbage.

"All he kept saying was, 'help, they pushed me in here,' " says Langlois. …
