WHL Roundup: Thunderbirds down Winterhawks

PORTLAND, Ore. - Logan Flodell stopped 33 shots as the Seattle Thunderbirds ended the Western Hockey League regular season with a 4-1 win over the Portland Winterhawks on Sunday.

Mathew Barzal, Elijah Brown and Donovan Neuls each had a goal and an assist for the Thunderbirds (45-23-4), who went 13-0-1 to end the year.

Dominic Turgeon scored for the Winterhawks (34-31-7), who head into the post-season on a five-game slide.

Michael Bullion turned away 21-of-25 shots for Portland.

Seattle went 2 for 5 on the power play while the Winterhawks failed to score on six chances with the man advantage.
