TAIPEI, Taiwan -- Police are searching for an armed suspect who made off with NT$900,000 in a bank robbery in Kaohsiung City ([...]) Friday afternoon.

At around 3:40 p.m., a suspect around 30 or 40 years old and 170-centimeters tall, threatened employees of the Youchang branch ([...]) of CTBC Bank with a gun.

"This is a robbery, hand me the money!" he said, according to the police. The suspect had wandered around in the bank, pretending to be a customer for an hour, and did not take action until the guard went outside. Also, two employees had gone to the backroom, leaving only one staffmember in the front.

The suspect warded off the guard with his gun and dashed out the door, said the police.
