Canada's Bute to face Jack in double-header

WASHINGTON, Untited States - Former world champion Lucian Bute of Montreal will face Badou Jack as part of a double-header of super-middleweight title bouts on April 30 at the CD Armory in Washington, D.C., the U.S. cable channel Showtime announced Monday.

Bute (32-3) will challenge World Boxing Council champion Jack (20-1-1) in one final while James (Chunky) DeGale (22-1) will defend his International Boxing Federation belt against Rogelio (Porky)Medina (35-6) in the other.

The winners are to meet later in the year in a title unification bout.

Bute, who held the IBF belt from 2007 to 2012, jumped back into the super-middleweight title picture with a strong showing in a 12-round loss to DeGale on Nov. 28 in Quebec City.

"It's my chance to win the WBC belt and become two-time world champion," Bute said in a release. …
