Declan Farmer Scores Twice as U.S. Beats Canada for Gold at Pan-Pacifics

Farmer leads U.S. past Canada for gold

BUFFALO, N.Y. - Declan Farmer scored twice as the United States continued its dominance over Canada with a 4-1 win on Saturday in the gold-medal game of the Pac-Pacific Championship.

Chris Douglas and Kevin McKee, into an empty net, also chipped in for the Americans, who have now won the last five major international events. Steve Cash made 10 saves for the win in net.

"The United States played a better game tonight and they deserve the win," Canadian head coach Ken Babey said. "I am happy of the level of competition I've seen over the last year. We will take a step back with our staff to analyze the season as we look to improve for next year."

Tyler McGregor scored the lone goal for Canada, which got 12 saves from Corbin Watson. Watson also earned top goaltender of the tournament honours. …
