Woman says men beat her up at Brandon bar

BRANDON, Man. - A woman from Brandon, Man., says she suffered a broken jaw and is awaiting surgery after a group of men attacked her on the dance floor at a bar in the city.

Nicole Fayant, 22, says she and her fiancee, Desiree Fisher, 24, were celebrating Fisher's last day of work at Houston's Country Roadhouse last weekend.

They were dancing with another friend when the men came up to them and tried to grab Fisher and the other friend.

Fayant stepped in and asked the men to leave them alone, and was then knocked to the ground and attacked until she was unconscious.

Fayant says she woke up in the back of an ambulance not knowing what happened and was taken to Brandon Regional Health Centre for treatment.

Brandon police say they are investigating the complaint but say the suspects left the scene and have not been identified. …
