Police say escaped prisoner may be with girlfriend

PRINCE ALBERT, Sask. - Police say an escaped murder suspect who is considered armed and dangerous may be with his girlfriend.

Braidy Vermette was being escorted from the Prince Albert Provincial Correctional Centre to a hospital for a self-inflicted injury last week when two masked attackers with a gun used bear spray on his unarmed guards.

Police say Vermette, who is 27, may be in the company of his girlfriend Tristen Smith, a brunette who recently dyed her hair blond.

She is also wanted by Prince Albert police for breach of an undertaking.

Both have distinctive tattoos, including corresponding large neck tattoos with each other's names.

Police have also identified Ricky Favel as a suspect in helping Vermette escape. …
